This is a joint excursion with the OUGS

The geology and old mines of the Coal Measures
and Permo-Triassic south and west of
Whitehaven.

The visit will involve two walks of 1.4k (40m
ascent and descent) and 4k (negligible ascent
and descent) with a further walk of 0.8k
(negligible ascent and descent) if time permits.

Unfortunately Alan Smith is indisposed and so unable to lead the trip on Friday to Castlehead. So this trip is cancelled.
