Opportunity to visit a new road cut before it is open to traffic

David Kelly has been keeping an eye on the new cutting on the A595 at Grizebeck. The cutting is in the Poolscar Formation of the Coniston Group in the Windermere Supergroup. He has not been able to make a preliminary visit but the BGS mapping shows inverted strata in the area.

There is an opportunity to examine the Windermere Supergroup rocks in the cutting on Wednesday 10 June, before the new road is open to traffic.

The contractor (Story) requires participants to bring hard hat, high viz vest and boots.
